The Kennedys (Pete and Maura) have been playing together since 1994. Usually, when they play live it’s just the two of them. Even so, with their two guitars, they still get a rather full sound. I’ve always described the full band Kennedys as sounding like The Byrds but with female lead vocals.
Having just passed their 20th anniversary as a band, Pete and Maura have not lifted their feet off the pedal. Separately and together, Pete and Maura released three new records last year: West, the latest Kennedys album, Villanelle: The Songs of Maura Kennedy and B.D. Love, and Pete Kennedy’s Heart Of Gotham. Tonight’s show will focus on The Kennedy’s 20 year plus book of songs plus your requests.
